GitHub Suffers Unplanned Outage Affecting Multiple Core Services
GitHub, the popular code development platform owned by Microsoft, experienced an unplanned outage on Monday at around 3.40pm CEST.
The outage affected multiple core services, including GitHub Copilot's AI coding assistant, which was operating with limited functionality.
Issues with GitHub Issues, a service used for reporting bugs and tracking development work, also persisted throughout the day.
The technical cause of the outage has not been disclosed by GitHub, but the company's status page reported improving conditions from around 7pm CEST as they worked to restore availability.
