Glanbia Names New CFO Amid Leadership Transition
Glanbia plc, a leading nutraceutical company, has announced that Mark Garvey will retire as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) after 13 years in the role. Garvey will step down on March 30, 2027, and officially retire from the company on April 30, 2027.
Glanbia's CEO, Hugh McGuire, praised Mark for his outstanding leadership and significant contribution to the company during his tenure. He noted that Garvey has led the financial stewardship of the Group through a period of significant change, with a strong focus on disciplined capital allocation and cash generation.
Wendy Chang Smith, currently Chief Digital & Transformation Officer, will take over as CFO and an Executive Director on Glanbia's Board on March 31, 2027. She has been appointed as CFO Designate effective immediately. Wendy brings significant finance experience from her previous roles at Amazon, Kellogg, Johnson & Johnson, and Procter & Gamble.
McGuire expressed confidence in Wendy's ability to lead the company's financial strategy, citing her extensive background in consumer branded and retail sectors. He also acknowledged Mark Garvey's contributions to Glanbia's success during his 13-year tenure as CFO.
