Global Microsoft Email Outage Hits Thousands
A global Microsoft email outage affected thousands of users on August 31, causing delays in sending and receiving emails, account sign-in errors, and other issues with email functions. The first reports of Outlook problems began appearing at around 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time.
According to an outage monitoring service, more than 5,000 complaints were received by 2:00 p.m. on the same day. Users also described the problems on social network X.
Micro-soft confirmed that users may experience degraded performance across various Exchange Online features and began analyzing service telemetry and diagnostic data to determine the source of the issue.
