God of War Series Recasts Atreus Amid Production Delays
Amazon's highly anticipated God of War series has been marred by casting changes. The show, based on the popular video game franchise, will reportedly recast its lead character Atreus for season 2. This comes after it was announced last month that Ryan Hurst would be replaced as Kratos due to a torn bicep injury.
The original cast included Sons of Anarchy actor Ryan Hurst as Kratos and 12-year-old Callum Vinson as his son Atreus. However, the show's production has been plagued by delays and setbacks, including a long recovery process for Hurst's injury that pushed back filming until 2027.
Now, it appears the show is looking to recast Atreus with an actor aged 14-17, citing concerns about Vinson's age and appearance. This decision has raised questions about the show's commitment to staying true to the source material.
