Gold Prices Forecasted to Soar to $4,900 in 2026
Goldman Sachs Research forecasts gold prices to reach $4,900 per troy ounce by year-end 2026. This projection is based on increasing central bank gold purchases and reduced expectations for Federal Reserve interest rate hikes.
The research team estimates that central banks will purchase an average of 50 tons of gold per month throughout 2026, a significantly higher figure than the average of 17 tons before 2022.
According to Goldman Sachs, central bank reserve diversification is driving the increased gold holdings. Gold is considered more difficult to freeze than reserves in foreign currencies.
