Goldman Sachs Adds $30B to ETF Platform with NEOS Investment Acquisition
Goldman Sachs Asset Management is expanding its exchange-traded fund (ETF) platform through an agreement to acquire NEOS Investments for $2.25 billion in cash and equity.
The deal, expected to close in the first quarter of 2027 pending regulatory approval, will add $30 billion in assets under management (AUM), bringing GSAM's total ETF AUM to $130 billion across its existing ETFs and those from Innovator Capital Management, which it acquired recently.
NEOS specializes in derivatives-based income ETFs and has 19 options-based ETFs that will complement Goldman Sachs' $40 billion in income- and outcome-oriented options-based ETFs.
Giving investors a diverse toolkit for different market environments is the goal, according to GSAM CEO David Solomon, who said NEOS' disciplined investment approach aligns with their capabilities across buffer, managed outcome, and income strategies.
