Goldman Sachs Boosts MongoDB Outlook Ahead of Q2 Earnings
Goldman Sachs reaffirmed its Buy rating for MongoDB ahead of the company's second-quarter earnings report. The firm sees potential for Atlas growth to exceed the company's guidance of 26%, with a projected increase of more than 29% in the second fiscal quarter.
Goldman Sachs also expects MongoDB to raise its third-quarter growth expectations, with a mid-20% range versus the Street estimate of 22%. This comes as MongoDB shares have risen 34% in the last month, outpacing the market by approximately 24 percentage points.
The stock has delivered an impressive 99% total return over the past year. However, according to InvestingPro analysis, MongoDB appears overvalued relative to its Fair Value, placing it among the most overvalued stocks in the market.
Goldman Sachs noted that npm download growth has accelerated to more than 80%, compared with approximately 55% in the first quarter of fiscal 2027. The firm views MongoDB as a later-cycle beneficiary of AI spending compared with platform peers.
