Goldman Sachs CEO Admits to Owning 'Very Little' BTC Amid $2.36 Billion Crypto Exposure
Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon admitted to owning 'very little' Bitcoin (BTC) during a speech at the World Liberty Forum in Palm Beach. When asked about his personal involvement with cryptocurrency, he said, 'I'm still trying to figure out how Bitcoin behaves.' This disclosure comes as Goldman's latest regulatory filings show indirect crypto exposure of around $2.36 billion through U.S.-based spot ETFs, including positions in Ethereum (ETH), XRP (XRP), and Solana (SOL).
The bank's Q4 2025 Form 13F filing revealed approximately $1.7 billion in BTC value at the close of the quarter, but this has since declined to an estimated $920 million due to a nearly 50% decrease. Goldman has not reduced its Bitcoin position and still holds around $2.36 billion in indirect crypto exposure through spot ETFs.
Solomon also mentioned that Goldman has assembled a large internal team focused on tokenization, stablecoins, and prediction markets. The firm is taking a cautious approach to understanding where digital market infrastructure could expand its existing businesses, rather than rushing to be a first mover in the space.
