Goldman Sachs CEO Admits to Small BTC Holdings Amid Bank's Growing Crypto Exposure
Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon revealed at the World Liberty Forum that he personally owns a small amount of Bitcoin (BTC), stating 'I own a little bitcoin, very little' and admitting he's still trying to figure out how it behaves.
This disclosure comes as Goldman's latest regulatory filings show indirect exposure to approximately $2.36 billion in crypto assets, including positions in Ethereum (ETH), XRP (XRP), and Solana (SOL) through spot ETFs.
The bank's holdings of BTC have not been reduced, despite a nearly 50% decline in value from its peak, resulting in an unrealized loss. Goldman still holds around $1.7 billion worth of BTC, according to the Q4 2025 Form 13F filing released on February 10.
The bank's growing involvement in crypto is part of a broader trend on Wall Street, with Solomon acknowledging the significance of legislative efforts, including the CLARITY Act currently under discussion in Washington. He also highlighted Goldman's internal focus on tokenization, stablecoins, and prediction markets.
