Goldman Sachs May Cut Up to 1800 Jobs in September
Goldman Sachs may be planning to cut jobs again in September, according to sources at the firm. This would be the fourth time in five years that Goldman has made significant job cuts during this period.
The process is called a 'strategic resource assessment' (SRA), which involves identifying underperforming employees who only partially meet expectations and letting them go.
Last year, Goldman cut between 1,300 and 1,800 people in September, despite cancelling planned cuts in July. This year, the firm has been doing things differently, with rolling layoffs throughout the year instead of one big round of cuts.
However, sources suggest that a traditional September round of job cuts could still occur, which would be bad news for employees who are already on edge due to the firm's shift towards automation and AI.
