Goldman Sachs' Private Equity Division Completes Latest Flagship Fund
Goldman Sachs' private equity division has announced the completion of its latest flagship fund, West Street Capital Partners (WSCP) No. 9. The fund raised a total of $9.6 billion from various institutions across North America, Europe, and the Middle East, as well as high-value asset owners.
The investment team behind WSCP No. 9 has invested over $89 billion worldwide since 1986, with a focus on acquiring management rights in blue-chip mid-sized companies. The fund's strategy targets industries such as services, finance, technology, healthcare, consumer goods, and energy transition sectors.
In addition to WSCP No. 9, Goldman Sachs' alternative investment business is also raising funds for West Street Asia Equity Partners (WSAEP) No. 1, a pan-Asian private equity fund strategy that has secured over $1.6 billion in funds to date through the first closing.
