Goldman Sachs Reiterates Buy Rating on Meta Amid AI Agent Launch
Goldman Sachs has reaffirmed its Buy rating on Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:META) following the launch of Muse, a personal AI agent application. The social media giant's new product operates through dedicated iOS and Android applications, as well as the web at muse.ai and WhatsApp. It can autonomously browse the web, manage workflows, fill out forms, make purchases, and coordinate long-term goals.
Muse is powered by the Muse Spark 1.3 model family and offers three subscription tiers: a Free Tier with a token limit of 100 million weekly tokens, a Power Tier at $20 per month for 500 million weekly tokens and faster response times, and a Maximum Tier at $100 per month for 3 billion weekly tokens and priority access. The new revenue stream comes as Meta demonstrates impressive gross profit margins of 82% and revenue growth of 28%, reflecting strong operational execution.
Goldman Sachs noted that the upcoming Connect event on September 23 and potential further foundational model releases could serve as catalysts for the shares. Several analysts have recently taken action on Meta, with Evercore ISI maintaining an Outperform rating and price target of $860, JPMorgan upgrading its stock rating from Neutral to Overweight with a higher price target, and KeyBanc maintaining its Overweight rating.
