Goldman Sachs Shares Surge 3.5% Amid Rebound in Financial Stocks
The Goldman Sachs Group (GS) shares have seen a 3.5% increase on September 3, 2026.
This upward trend is largely attributed to the broader rebound in financial stocks following eased Treasury yields and markets becoming more comfortable with the possibility of the Federal Reserve holding rates steady this month.
Goldman Sachs also reported robust second-quarter results, including earnings per share of $20.98, net revenues of $20.34 billion, and an annualized return on common equity of 23.5%, indicating strong operating momentum.
The firm's decision to raise its quarterly common dividend to $5.00 per share in June and the redemption of about $3.05 billion of notes due in 2027 have reinforced the picture of active capital management, further contributing to the stock's gain.
