Goldman Sachs Slashes Walmart Target to $130 Amid Sales Growth Concerns
Walmart's stock price has taken a hit after Goldman Sachs slashed its target from $141 to $130, citing slower comparable sales growth despite an earnings beat and higher 2026 guidance.
The retailer reported adjusted earnings of $0.81 per share and $187.9 billion in revenue, beating estimates of $0.74 per share and $186.75 billion. However, Walmart's U.S. eCommerce business posted double-digit profit margins in the first half of 2026, indicating a shift towards profitability.
Goldman Sachs analyst Kate McShane remains positive on Walmart's second-half outlook, citing price investments, marketplace growth, and improving eCommerce profits as reasons for her optimism. Despite this, she has lowered her 2026 earnings-per-share estimate by about 2%.
