Goldman Sachs Takes Top Spot as Largest Institutional Holder of Solana ETFs
Goldman Sachs has taken a significant stake in Solana exchange-traded funds (ETFs), becoming the largest known institutional holder, according to Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart. The disclosure is based on U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) 13F filings, which require institutional investment managers with at least $100 million in assets under management to report their quarterly holdings.
The Solana-based investment products have been trading since mid-2025, and Goldman Sachs' position marks a milestone for the asset class. While the exact number of shares and total value are not disclosed, Seyffart noted that the bank's involvement adds credibility to Solana ETFs, which have seen mixed investor demand.
The move signals that major traditional financial institutions are increasingly comfortable with regulated crypto exposure, even as the broader market faces regulatory uncertainty. This trend is reflected in the growing convergence between traditional finance and the digital asset ecosystem, accelerated by the approval of spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs.
