Goldman Sachs has appointed Chandresh Chheda as co-head of investment banking in India, alongside Dev Nambakam. The appointment comes amid a surge in dealmaking and capital-market activity in the country.

Chheda joins Goldman Sachs from JPMorgan, where he was managing director responsible for covering new-age technology sectors. He has over 22 years of investment banking experience, including a decade in New York at Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan.

The appointment is part of Goldman Sachs' efforts to expand its India franchise. The firm has helped companies raise more than $20 billion through Indian equity-market transactions since 2023 and ranked first in the country's ECM league tables during the first half of 2026, according to Dealogic data.
