Western Star Resources (CSE:WSR) has appointed Garland Scott to its board of directors. Scott brings 26 years of experience in financial services, business development, and strategic consulting to the company.

Scott's background includes senior positions at Bank of America and Goldman Sachs, where he worked with high-net-worth clients and financial advisers. He also held roles as business development and consultant director at SEM Wealth Management and chief growth officer at On3 Strategies.

The appointment comes as Western Star seeks to advance its US tungsten portfolio amid growing concerns over the country's dependence on imported supply.

Western Star is currently conducting a high-resolution drone magnetic survey at its Eagle Point Tungsten Project in New Mexico, with results expected soon. The company has also mobilized geophysical crews for the project and will have assay updates on other properties in the coming weeks.
