Golf and Gaelic Football Combine at Amgen Irish Open
The Amgen Irish Open golf tournament is about to get an extra sporting dimension. The event, taking place from September 9-13 at Trump International Golf Links Ireland in Doonbeg, Co. Clare, will feature some of the biggest names in world golf, including Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry.
In addition to the golfing stars, Mayo footballers Ryan O'Donoghue and Aidan O'Shea will take centre stage on Friday, September 11, along with Galway All-Ireland winning footballers Róisín Leonard and Shauna Hynes. The pair will share their experiences of reaching the pinnacle of Gaelic football, bringing the Sam Maguire Cup to the main stage.
The GAA champions from all four codes - football, hurling, ladies football, and camogie - will make special appearances at the tournament throughout the week, meeting supporters and taking part in live question-and-answer sessions. The stars will be on hand to celebrate their championship success and give fans an insight into what it takes to become an All-Ireland champion.
