Google Abandons China Manufacturing for Pixel Devices
Google has been facing rising component costs and pricing pressures for its Pixel devices. The company recently increased the prices of its entire Pixel 11 lineup, with the base model starting at $899.
In an effort to mitigate these costs and reduce its reliance on Chinese manufacturing, Google plans to stop producing all Pixel devices in China by 2027, shifting production to India and Vietnam instead.
This move is expected to give Google more flexibility when it comes to pricing future Pixels, but it's unclear whether the company will pass any resulting savings along to buyers.
