Google has been hit with a racial discrimination lawsuit from one of its employees, Marcella Barrière, who claims the company's actions violated a settlement agreement. The suit alleges that Google denied her a raise unless she agreed to sign a mandatory arbitration agreement, which contradicts a previous promise not to enter into such agreements through August 2026.

The lawsuit was filed on Monday in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts and claims that Google's actions were motivated by racial bias. The settlement deal, reached in another case, barred the company from entering into arbitration pacts until August 2026.
