Google Adds View Counts to Business Profiles
Google has introduced view counts for Google Posts inside the Business Profile dashboard. This feature allows business owners to track how many people saw each post, update, or event on Search and Maps.
The change was announced in the September edition of the Google Small Business Bulletin, dated September 10, 2026. According to Google, this feature is called Google Posts Reporting, and it removes the guesswork out of which offers and updates resonate best with an audience.
Business owners can access the view count by signing into their Google Business Profile dashboard, selecting Posts from the menu, and reading the view count printed on each post card. The view count covers every post format, including regular updates, special offers, and events, across both Search and Maps surfaces.
The feature is currently rolling out globally but is not yet available through the Business Profile Performance API. This means that business owners with hundreds or thousands of locations will need to manually collect location-by-location data without a programmatic solution.
