Google Ads Introduces Channel Settings Prioritization Slider
Google is testing a new feature in its Ads platform that allows advertisers to adjust how much they prioritize conversions from different channels. The 'Channels' slider, currently labeled as an alpha test, lets users adjust their spending on various platforms such as Google Search, YouTube, and the Display Network.
According to Heidi Sturrock, who shared a screenshot of the feature on LinkedIn, the slider allows advertisers to guide the algorithm to invest more heavily in specific channels they value. The adjustment can be made from left to right, with lower prioritization on the left and higher prioritization on the right.
The feature is still in its early stages, but it has generated interest among some users. Andrew Goodman expressed his enthusiasm for the new feature, stating that he would love to control the mix of channels. However, Heidi Sturrock also cautioned against potential shifts in performance over time due to attribution blind spots.
