Google Ads Introduces Feature for Tracking New Customer Acquisition
Google Ads has introduced a new feature called 'Report on new customers acquired' that allows advertisers to track and measure customer acquisition without affecting their bidding strategies.
The feature was spotted by Vasant Chaudhary, who had previously used a workaround involving setting the bid value to 0.01 for new customers.
Thomas Eccel, who credits Chaudhary for discovering the hack, notes that this approach technically changed bidding but in practice had little impact on campaign performance.
The new feature will replace the old workaround and provide advertisers with more accurate and detailed measurements of their customer acquisition efforts.
