Google Ads Rolls Out Automated Promotions for Advertisers
Google Ads has introduced a new feature called Automated Promotions that allows advertisers to automatically display valid, high-quality deals and offers directly within their ads. This feature identifies and sources promotions from an advertiser's website landing pages, such as 'Buy one get one free', and attaches them to eligible Search and Performance Max campaigns.
According to Google, this new automated asset is designed to drive both online and offline conversion discovery by seamlessly connecting potential customers with active deals. To be eligible for this feature, advertisers must have Active Search or Performance Max campaigns with attached Location Assets, no existing manual promotions currently running on the campaign, and compliance with standard Google Ads advertising policies.
Google also emphasizes the importance of keeping website promotional details up to date or manually uploading specific promotions if exact control is required. The example provided by Google illustrates how Automated Promotions work: if a landing page advertises a deal like '20% off on black sweaters', Google will automatically extract this information and attach it to eligible ads, displaying the 20% discount directly in search results when users look for products.
