Google AdSense Rolls Out New Features for Simplified Data Protection Compliance
Google AdSense has introduced two new features aimed at simplifying the process of complying with European data protection regulations. The first feature, 'Maximize message coverage', is an account-level control that automatically creates and displays a fallback consent message when necessary.
This helps to ensure that traffic eligible for personalized ads can be monetized across websites without requiring manual effort from publishers.
The second feature, 'Optimize my consent message', uses past performance and session data to determine which type of consent message is most likely to drive revenue. This can help reduce bounce rates and increase ad revenue by relying on legitimate interest to serve limited ads.
These features are currently available in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK), and Switzerland regions, and are designed to make it easier for publishers to comply with regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
