Google Aims for AI Comeback with New Model 3.8 Flash
Alphabet's Google is reportedly preparing to release its new AI model, 3.8 Flash, as early as Wednesday, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The model has been preferred by Google engineers over Anthropic's Opus in head-to-head testing through the company's internal coding tool, Jetski.
Google has been directing more research time and computing resources toward strengthening its models' coding capabilities since the start of the year.
The Flash series is designed to be smaller, cheaper, and faster but remains less powerful than Google's largest AI models.
