Google Analytics Experiences Real-Time Traffic Drop During Early Morning Outage
Google Analytics suffered an outage early this morning, starting around 4 am ET. The real-time analytics report within the platform was not showing all data, with some users reporting a significant drop in traffic.
According to Chandramani Das, who first notified Search Engine Roundtable of the issue at 4:28 am ET, there was a sudden drop in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) real-time traffic across multiple properties, with numbers as low as 40-50% lower than usual.
Perry Richardson also reported the issue on X, saying 'Something not right with Google Analytics live traffic at the moment. Not displaying all traffic at the moment.'
The outage seemed to be resolving a couple of hours later, but it's unclear whether it was a regional issue or a widespread problem.
