Google Analytics Rolls Out Custom Conversion Attribution Windows
Google Analytics has given advertisers more control over how conversions are credited to their campaigns. A recent update allows for custom integer-based lookback windows for two conversion types in Google Analytics: engaged-view and click-through conversions.
The new settings allow advertisers to set a lookback window of any integer between 1 and 30 days for engaged-view conversions, rather than the previous default of 3 days. For click-through conversions, the lookback window can be set to any integer between 1 and 90 days, giving advertisers more flexibility in attributing conversions.
This update is part of Google's efforts to give advertisers greater flexibility in how conversions are attributed in Google Analytics. The change will help reduce discrepancies between conversion tracking reports in Google Analytics and Google Ads, allowing advertisers to make more accurate decisions about their campaigns.
