Google and Abbott Team Up for AI-Powered Glucose Guidance
Abbott and Google have partnered on a multi-year collaboration to combine continuous glucose monitoring with artificial intelligence, aiming to deliver personalized health guidance.
The partnership focuses on three areas: integrating Lingo's glucose data into the Google Health app to provide a more complete picture of health, using Google's AI-powered Health Coach to deliver recommendations based on glucose trends, and conducting one of the largest real-world metabolic health studies to date.
Lingo users will be able to view their glucose trends within the Google Health app alongside other health metrics like activity, sleep, and heart rate. The integration is designed to make metabolic health insights actionable in real time.
The research component of the partnership aims to explore the relationship between continuous glucose monitoring, wearable data, and metabolic health outcomes, which could generate new insights into how factors like sleep quality, physical activity, and stress influence glucose regulation.
