Google and Accenture Deploy AI Engineers Directly to Clients

Google and Accenture have teamed up to help customers deploy Google Cloud's agentic artificial intelligence platform. The collaboration will train up to 1,000 Accenture forward-deployed engineers (FDEs) who will work with customers on-site to plan and develop AI applications on the Gemini Enterprise platform.

According to Thomas Kurian, Google Cloud Chief Executive, 'There's a need for experts who can go and do these [things] for customers.' The FDE role reflects an obstacle companies face when adopting artificial intelligence - many organizations lack the data pipelines, system architecture or internal expertise needed to deploy AI tools on their own.

Accenture CEO Julie Sweet noted that 'Clients want clear value and they're stuck,' adding that companies are seeking growth, investment capacity and real impact on their bottom line. Kurian also mentioned that companies struggle with understanding how artificial intelligence can reconfigure their business processes and grasping how to make organizational and labor changes that come from that redesign.
