Google Announces New Pixel Smartphones and Accessories with Improved Processing Power
Google is set to unveil its new flagship smartphones at the Made by Google event on August 12, 2026. The Pixel 11 family will include the standard Pixel 11, the souped-up Pixel 11 Pro, and the slightly larger Pixel 11 Pro XL. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold will also be launched as the foldable option.
The new devices are expected to have a similar design to last year's models but with different colorways, including a purple hue. Leaked images show that the phones' designs may not change drastically, but there could be some minor tweaks.
One of the key upgrades is the processing power, as the Pixel 11 family will receive a boost from Google's Tensor G6 chipset. However, all Pixel smartphone models, including the Pro, will be limited to 12GB of RAM instead of 16GB, which was standard in the last two generations.
This change may affect users who value high memory capacity and are considering upgrading their devices. Additionally, Google has removed the 128GB storage option from all its Pixel devices, starting with a minimum of 256GB instead. This means each device will start at $100 more than last year's models due to the global component shortage.
