Google Apps Drain Your Phone's Battery, Here's How to Fix It
Are you tired of constantly charging your Android smartphone? You may be surprised to learn that even default apps from Google can be hidden battery drainers. The Google app, for example, constantly reloads data and places a strain on the battery, especially when used in conjunction with Google Chrome.
To check which apps are consuming the most power, go to Settings > Battery and choose Battery usage by app. Here, you'll find a detailed breakdown of which apps are draining the battery, how long they've been doing so, and how many mAh it's used.
One common culprit is Google Maps, social media apps, and YouTube. To prevent these apps from running constantly in the background and draining your battery, restrict their permissions. Within the app itself, disable the Discover feed to prevent updates, or search for the app under Apps > App Management and select 'Stop app activity when not in use'.
