Google Assistant Ends Mobile Support in September 2026
Google has set an end-of-life date for the Google Assistant on mobile devices. The tech giant announced that it will no longer be available on phones, tablets, and paired devices starting September 4, 2026.
The Gemini app will replace the Google Assistant on most mobile devices, but users can still switch between the two until then. However, once availability is removed, users will no longer be able to use or switch back to Google Assistant on their phone, tablet, or paired devices.
This also applies to paired devices, including watches running Wear OS, headphones or earbuds compatible with Gemini, and vehicles running Android Auto connected to your phone. Cars with Google built-in will still have the Google Assistant working after September 4, 2026.
