Google Assistant Shutdown Scheduled for September 4th

Google's long-time voice assistant is nearing its demise. As previously expected, Google will be discontinuing support for Google Assistant on Android and Wear OS devices starting September 4th.

This decision marks the end of an era, as Google first launched Google Assistant in 2016 as a competitor to Siri and Alexa.

According to emails sent to users by Google, once availability is removed, users will no longer be able to use or switch back to Google Assistant on their devices.

This move comes as Google focuses on its AI chatbot Gemini instead of upgrading Google Assistant.
