Google Axes 52 Workers at Washington State Locations
Google has laid off 52 people working in Kirkland, Redmond, and Seattle, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) issued on August 5. The Washington State Employment Security Department received this notification for an organization with locations in these cities.
The WARN was filed as part of the federal WARN Act, which requires employers to provide advance notice of mass layoffs or plant closures. This requirement aims to protect workers from sudden job losses and provide them time to seek new employment opportunities.
