Google Brings AI-Powered Gemini Desktop App to Windows
Google has launched its Gemini desktop app for Windows machines, bringing its smart platform directly to users' screens. The native application allows regular users to tap into artificial intelligence while working on other tasks on their computers, providing a faster way to access information.
The app connects to workspace files and uses a simple shortcut - Alt + Space - to bring up the assistant. This overlay can be customized or opened from the system tray for easier access.
Gemini also integrates deeply with existing files, allowing it to search through Gmail or Drive to pull out details from long email threads or summarize documents saved on the computer. This process is faster than using a standard webpage and logs users in automatically using their saved account.
