Google Brings AI-Powered Voice Features to Gmail, Docs, and Keep

Google has introduced AI-powered voice features in its Gmail, Docs, and Keep apps. The new features, called Docs Live, Gmail Live, and Keep Live, allow users to interact with their inboxes and documents using natural-language queries and dictation.

The company previewed these features at its Google I/O conference in May and has now made them available for users of Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra customers. Gmail Live is currently only accessible on these plans, while Docs Live and Keep Live are available to users with a Google AI Pro or Ultra account.

The new voice features use Gemini-powered AI assistants, which can perform tasks such as answering questions about the contents of an inbox, creating drafts from dictation, and even pulling together recipes and lists based on user requests. For example, a user could ask Keep Live to list ingredients for making shakshouka.

The introduction of voice features is part of Google's broader effort to make its apps more accessible and user-friendly. The company has also introduced cross-app dictation in its Mac app and the Gemini-powered dictation tool called Rambler on Pixel 11 smartphones.
