Google Brings Live Voice Commands to Gmail, Docs, and Keep

Google has begun rolling out beta voice features for its Gmail, Docs, and Keep services. These interactive conversations are powered by Gemini 3.5 AI and allow users to issue voice commands without typing text.

The new features, known as 'Live,' are currently available only to Google's AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra paid-tier subscribers. However, business customers who use Google Workspace will soon have access to the Live features.

In Gmail, users can find information in emails by issuing voice commands. In Keep, users can organize notes or find information within them using voice commands. Docs can pull in information from services like Google Chat and Drive with permission as well as websites, allowing it to create documents that pull together different elements with just voice commands.

Google staff previewed these features at its I/O event in May, where they demonstrated how the Live features can make using the three apps more conversational and potentially faster than typing searches or entering information manually.
