Google Brings Voice AI to Gmail, Docs, and Keep for Workspace Customers

Google is expanding its Gemini Live conversational AI models to three of its most popular mobile apps for Workspace customers. The features are part of Google's effort to enrich users' day-to-day lives, but not all users seem enthusiastic about the idea of talking to a mail client on their phone.

Gmail Live allows users to quickly recall important details about meetings or school events by asking natural language questions. Docs Live is designed to be a 'co-writer' for new document projects, helping users lay out a first draft based on their thoughts and ideas. Keep Live can turn whimsical notes and ideas into organized and actionable lists.

These features are already rolling out to eligible subscribers of Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra plans, as well as business customers using the Workspace productivity suite. While some users see this as a natural way to interact with computers, others are less enthusiastic about 'chatting' with an email app on their phone.
