Google Brings Voice Search, Real-Time Collaboration to Gmail and Docs
Google is rolling out new conversational features across several of its popular services, including Gmail, Docs, and Keep. The tech giant has introduced voice search for Gmail, which allows users to search their inbox using natural language queries. For example, a user can ask 'What is the gate number for my flight?' and Gmail Live will scan all the emails to provide an answer.
The company has also launched Docs' chat feature, called Docs Live, which enables real-time interaction with new documents. According to Google, Docs Live will act as a thought partner and co-author, helping users create a first draft faster. This feature can even pull in necessary information from Gmail, Drive, Chat, or the web.
Another key feature is Keep's voice mode, which enables users to dictate ideas that are then AI-powered into structured notes and lists. This eliminates the need for manual typing. The new features will be available this week for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers, as well as in Docs for Pro and Ultra subscribers.
Google Workspace business customers can expect these features soon.
