Google Bumps Up Prices on Streaming Device and Nest Cameras
Google has quietly raised prices on several of its US-based products, including the Google TV Streamer and Nest cameras. The most significant increase is for the Google TV Streamer, which has seen a price hike of 50% from $99.99 to $149.99.
The streaming device is not the only one affected by the price adjustments; nearly every camera and doorbell in the Nest family has also seen a price jump of up to $30, representing an 11% increase on most hardware options.
Rising component costs are cited as the reason for the price hikes. Google stated that supply chain pressures, particularly escalating RAM prices, have forced it to raise US hardware pricing.
