Google Cancels Tablet Dreams with Discontinued Pixel Tablet
Google's Pixel Tablet has been discontinued, and it appears the company is done making tablets. The device was removed from the Google Store after only three years on the market. It was launched in 2023 with a $899 price tag and featured an 11-inch 2560 x 1600 LCD display powered by the Tensor G2.
Reviews for the Pixel Tablet were generally positive, but not spectacular, earning scores of around 7 out of 10. Despite this, it was unlikely to have competed with Apple's dominant iPad line. The device was marked as out of stock on the Google Store a few days ago, and now the entire Tablet category has been removed.
This move likely means that Google will not be releasing another tablet in the near future. In fact, the company canceled the Pixel Tablet 2 back in November 2024, before confirming this pause in August 2025 to reconsider the tablet category's future.
