Google Chrome Tests Direct PDF Translation Feature

Google Chrome is working on a new feature that could make translating PDFs easier for users. A flag named 'enable-translate-pdf' has been spotted in the latest version of Chrome Canary, which suggests that Google is testing the ability to translate PDFs directly within the browser.

The flag was discovered by PiunikaWeb while browsing through flags on Chrome Canary, and it includes a description that reads 'Enables PDF translation in Chrome.' This implies that the feature could be available across multiple operating systems, including Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS.

However, when tested by PiunikaWeb, the feature was not functional at the moment. Enabling the flag made no difference on either Windows or macOS platforms, and users are still required to use workarounds such as uploading the PDF to Google Drive and translating it through Google Docs if they want to translate a PDF in Chrome.
