Google Clarifies Distinct Features for Customizing User Experience
Google has clarified that its Preferred Sources, Tailor Your Feed, and Search Profiles features are distinct and serve different purposes in customizing user experience across Google Search.
Rajan Patel from Google confirmed on X that Preferred Sources and Tailor Your Feed are not the same thing but two different ways to tailor what users see when searching.
Preferred Sources allows users to select sites they want to see more of in Top Stories, including favorite blogs and local news outlets. This feature is now visible in AI Mode and other areas.
Tailor Your Feed, on the other hand, is specific to Google Discover and enables users to customize the type of content they want to see on Discover by category rather than source.
