Google Clears Permit Hurdle for Virginia Data Center
Botetourt County officials have given Google permission to start grading on a 312-acre site for a planned data center.
The land disturbance permit was issued for the site, which is located inside the Botetourt Center at Greenfield. The county permit does not impact any federal or state permits currently under review.
The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will oversee several environmental permits, and contractors are required to use dry support bridges for temporary access across wetlands.
