Google Clock: What Features Would Make it One of Google's Standout Apps
Google's Clock app has been a staple on many Android phones for years, but it can be improved upon. While it may not be the most feature-rich alarm clock app available, Google could add several features to make it one of its standout apps.
One of the main areas where Google Clock falls short is in its alarm tasks and challenges. Currently, users are limited to simply tapping a button to dismiss their alarms, which can lead to oversleeping. To combat this, Google could implement more robust alarm fail-safes, such as maximum-volume vibration modes or audio alarms that trigger after a specified cut-off time.
In addition to these features, Google Clock's Bedtime Mode could use some updates. While it is currently a useful feature for setting phone settings to be more hospitable at night and in the morning, users would benefit from additional options such as more sleep sounds and support for integrations with Google Tasks and Google Calendar.
Finally, a built-in Pomodoro timer and customizable presets for timers would be welcome additions to the app. A Pomodoro timer would allow users to track their work and rest intervals, while customizable presets would make it easier to set timers for common tasks such as cooking or baking.
