Google Cloud Outage Brings Down Nest Devices Globally

A widespread outage of Google's cloud services left Nest devices unresponsive and routines broken. The issue affected multiple regions, impacting users worldwide.

Nest Hubs, Nest Minis, Google Home speakers, and some third-party displays were all impacted by the outage. Users reported voice commands not working, slow responses, failed routines, and screens stuck on blank white or loading animations.

Derrek Lee, Android Central managing editor, experienced the problem firsthand when a voice command to turn off his TV failed initially but eventually succeeded after a 30-second delay.
