Google Cloud Pushes Deeper into Creative Software Market with Avid Partnership
Jim Cramer's warnings about Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) targeting Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) have been vindicated. In September, Google Cloud and Avid announced a partnership to embed Gemini Enterprise directly into browser-based Avid Media Composer, the professional video editor that shares Hollywood's post-production stack with Adobe Premiere.
The integration delivers AI-powered innovation such as agentic editing via natural language prompts, semantic search, and connected newsroom-to-timeline workflows. This move has significant implications for Adobe, which has seen its stock price fall 61.6% over the past five years and 27.8% over a year.
Avid's survey of 120 professional editors found that 79% already use AI in their workflows, with 87% saying the technology is most valuable when it frees up creative time. Google Cloud's revenue has been growing rapidly, reaching $24.77 billion in Q2 FY2026, an 82% increase year-over-year.
The integration of Gemini Enterprise into Avid Media Composer marks a significant milestone in Google Cloud's push to expand its presence in the creative software market. With a backlog already exceeding $460 billion and a strong track record of innovation, Alphabet (GOOGL) is well-positioned to continue making waves in this space.
