Google Cloud Tackles Agentic AI Cost Management with New Tools and Pricing Options
Google Cloud has introduced new cost management tools for agentic AI workloads and pricing options to help customers manage their budgets. The company is addressing a key concern in AI adoption: token prices are decreasing, but the number of tokens required to execute processes or workflows is increasing.
To combat this issue, Google Cloud is providing controls and tools such as a pricing calculator, spending anomaly detection, project-level spending caps, overage controls, and billing reports. The pricing calculator helps customers estimate costs in Gemini Enterprise across per-user licenses, developer tools, and background agent runtimes.
Additionally, the company's new cost control features include centralized billing reports that can generate summaries explaining how budgets were used to support ROI discussions. Google Cloud is also offering pay-as-you-go options, flexible savings plans with up to 20% discounts for steady or climbing AI workloads, and consolidated spend guardrails.
