Google Cloud Unveils AI-Powered Legal Tool
Google Cloud has launched Gemini Enterprise for Legal, an AI-powered tool designed to simplify and automate complex legal tasks. The product is available in preview, with several major law firms already on board as launch customers.
Gemini Enterprise for Legal includes features such as contract review, regulatory monitoring, diligence, and privacy requests, along with connections to various legal systems and databases.
According to Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian, agentic AI has the potential to 'research across historical case law, build complex arguments, and automate mundane tasks.' However, he emphasizes that ensuring accuracy and grounding in legal authority is crucial.
The product will support workflows such as contract lifecycle management, citation verification, legal brief drafting, and data subject access request fulfillment.
